Tim & Tish trip to Las Vegas, Route 66 and general tour of the area August 21st to September 1st 2006
We arrived in Las Vegas mid-afternoon on the 22nd August 2006 and spent 2 nights at the Luxor Hotel. We picked up our hire car on 24th August and headed for The Grand Canyon via The Hoover Dam and Kingsman on Route 66. We had a night at the Grand Canyon Maswik Lodge on the southern rim. The next day we drove through Monument Valley and into Utah and The Painted Desert and The Petrified Forest. We arrived at Holbrook on Route.66 in Arizona and spent a night in the WigWam Motel. We then headed for Pheonix, Arizona to do the Wild West thing and stayed in the Marriott Hotel in Scottsdale for 2 nights. The Wildwest show was the 'Rawhide Wild West Experience'. Next stop was Lake Havasu, just near the Calafornian border and visited 'London' Bridge. We spend 2 nights at the Hampton Hotel in Lake Havasu before driving back to Vegas for our final two nights in the Venetian Hotel. 1700 miles driven in total and only stopped once for speeding by the Navajo Nation Police Force!
